How It Works :


In the process, A plastic material, normally in flakes state is inserted into hopper of extruder, usually fabricated from mild steel or stainless steel as per material requirement. Hopper magnet fitted inside the hopper to resist metallic particles from entering inside the barrel area. Raw material in the state of flakes, is gravity fed into the hopper and drop on the rotating screw. Barrel has an air vent for degassing and machine has AC frequency drives to adjust the motor speed/rpm. Barrel has several nos of heaters fitted on the outer diameter. Which heats up the barrel to help extrusion process to be done. Screw is fitted with helical gearbox and AC motor which rotates the screw. Raw material in flakes state initials to move further along the rotating screw and enters the heating spot of barrel. Where it melts. Molten plastic reaches the end of the barrel where hydraulic screen changer is fitted which filters the molten plastic and leads it to the die face cutter unit where sharp blades are rotating on high rpm on face of outer side backer plate of the screen changer. These blades cut the molten plastic into round shaped pellets. Entire cutting process occurs with constant water circulation. Finished pellets moves to the de-watering unit along water flow. In de-watering unit, pellets get completely dry and moved to the storage silo with help of hot air blower.

Important Features:


  • Screw/barrel made of EN41-B mild steel material, nitrided and honing finished for quality production and longer durable life span.
  • Optional : Tungsten carbide coated screw/barrel available, for high production machines to provide a longer and durable life span.
  • Barrel has a air vent on outer diameter for degassing of the plastic material.
  • Screws are specially designed for specific material to get better output quality.
  • Heating zones are divided on Barrel for accurate temperature control.
  • Digital pyrocontrol panel for faster heating and easy operating.
  • Thermocouples wires provided for each heating zone to control temperature with help of digital temperature controllers.
  • Movable motor attachment provided for extruder’s AC motor to adjust motor as per belts length.
  • Extruder’s fabrication is consisting of heavy and sturdy mild steel channel frame and covered with CRC sheets.
  • High efficient hopper magnet provided to detect and restrict the metallic particles from the polymer.
  • Screw is rotated by suitable AC motor and AC drives with suitable heavy duty helical gear box. AC motor, AC drive and helical gear box are from reputed make brands.
  • AC drives are used to adjust the speed/RPM of motor according material requirement.
  • Hydraulic screen changer provided for filtration of molten plastic.
  • Die attached with hydraulic screen changer which leads molten plastic into die face cutting unit. Hydraulic power pack provided for screen changer.
  • Die face cutter unit is fabricated from stainless steel 304 grade material.
  • Carbide tipped blades fitted on rotating shaft, near the outer face of screen changers backer plate.
  • Die face cutter’s shaft connected with AC motor and AC drive.
  • Water supply system provided for smooth cutting in die face cutting unit.
  • De-watering unit provided to remove moisture from the surface of finished pellets.
  • De-watering unit is completely fabricated from stainless steel 304 grade material and contains AC motor
